Dancing under the stars and four-dollar cocktails? Who knew that the American Legion Marsh Post 442 was so hip! Techno music lovers congregated on a small landing on the Charles River this past Saturday night for Boston’s hippest outdoor music party, Dancing on the Charles-- DOTC for short. Hundreds flocked to the secluded, undercover locale to start off the evening’s festivities with a barbecue, beer and fantastic dance music. As the sun set, the beats got faster and the make-shift concrete dance floor became jam-packed. Laid back, unpretentious and welcoming to all, the eclectic crowd at DOTC is friendly, fun and unthreatening—even if multicolored high tops and skinny jeans aren’t your thing.
Sponsored by Red Bull and rated one of the best outdoor summer parties in the country, the event series is produced by Boston underground electronic music visionaries Soul Clap and Marz Entertainment, who on this night also celebrated their 9th anniversary. Guest DJs of the evening included Tari, Jay Prouty, Tom Bartlett, Tanner Ross, Jason Bosserman, and Marz Entertainment DJs, Sergio Santos, Randy Deshaies, Ryan Obermiller and Roland Ess.
