Moon Dance
September 29,2012

An elegant night out on the Esplanade brought together more than 400 guests for the Esplanade Moon Dance Gala to celebrate the landmark and The Explanade Association's vision for its restoration. Governor Deval Patrick and First Lady Diane Patrick and Mayor Thomas Menino and First Lady of Boston Angela Menino were among the Honorary Chairs, while guests included the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation Commissioner Edward M. Lambert, Jr. and his wife Eva Lambert, Representative Marty Walz, Senator Will Brownsberger and Councilor Mike Ross, along with Boston's leading philanthropists. Serving as Mistress of Ceremonies for the evening was Sara Underwood, Fox 25 Anchor, while Shannon Sperlinga and Cesarina Templeton co-chaired the gala committee. Inside the spacious ivory Sperry tents decorated with towering 10-foot tall arrangements of seasonal flowers and brilliant lighting designs, guests bid on unique silent auction items while enjoying an evening of cocktails and delicate food creations to the sounds of sophisticated live jazz. The event concluded with a post-dinner DJ dance party. Proceeds from the evening went towards important park improvement projects and programs.
